In their own words
Get to know Matt.
How long have you been serving here, and what are your primary responsibilities?
I’ve been serving here for about a year and a half, and the time has already flown by. My primary responsibilities include leading and curating worship services and equipping our musicians, vocalists, and Worship Tech Team to lead our people into God’s presence.
What is your calling or passion for ministry or church service?
My calling is to steward the gift of music as an act of worship—guiding people deeper into the presence of Jesus, the Solid Rock.
What Bible verse or passage has been especially meaningful?
Psalm 100: “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!” This passage reminds me that worship is not about performance; it is joyful, wholehearted service to the King.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love spending time in God’s creation—walking, reflecting, and staying active. I also enjoy deep dives into music production and taking my wife, Amy, to Lido Beach every chance we get.
What do you most appreciate about this church family?
I most appreciate the genuine hunger for God here—the way people show up ready to worship, serve, and grow together no matter their age. It feels like family committed to the long obedience in the same direction.
Coffee or tea—and how do you take it?
Coffee: our island-inspired creation with organic fair-trade instant coffee, Amish butter, unsweetened almond milk, Ceylon cinnamon, Himalayan salt, and turbinado sugar. In the evening, organic chamomile or holy basil tea.
